The method, explained
Lagree is a low-impact, high-intensity workout performed on a spring-loaded megaformer. It combines strength, endurance, core and cardio into slow, controlled movements that keep your muscles under constant tension allowing for muscular change and strength.
The result is a workout that is easy on your joints, and brutal on your muscles, in the best possible way. You will ALWAYS feel like you have accomplished something after a lagree class.
How it works
Where a lot of training is about speed and reps, Lagree is about time under tension. You move slowly and deliberately against the resistance of the megaformer, which is why 45 minutes leaves you shaking. You will constantly think of your engaged muscles, and in return they will strength so much over time.
It builds strength, tones, and raises your heart rate, all at once .. without having to jump around.

Lagree vs Pilates
People often assume Lagree is Pilates, and it is not. They share a machine heritage, but they are different workouts with different goals.
Focuses on controlled movement, mobility, alignment and core stability. It is gentler and more restorative. Reformers are built for this.
Based on bodybuilding principles from founder Sebastian, it takes the low-impact, controlled principle and cranks the intensity to be more of a workout. The megaformer is created with much high weight loads for progression, and the lagree, patented system spring change technology allows for quicker transitions. Strength and endurance led, muscular fatigue, and an elevated heart rate but without the jumping around.
Both have their place. If you want restorative and mobility-focused, Pilates is brilliant. If you want low-impact but seriously challenging workout, that is Lagree.

Good questions
The things everyone asks before their first class, answered straight.
Lagree and Pilates both use controlled, low-impact movement, but Lagree is higher intensity, and strength and endurance focused, using a much larger and heavier spring-loaded megaformer to keep muscles under constant tension. Your muscles are worked more in a gym training style and will be challenged. Pilates is gentler and more focused on mobility, alignment and core control.
Lagree combines strength, muscle growth, endurance and cardio in one low-impact session, which makes it effective for building lean strength, toning and raising your heart rate without high-impact strain on your joints. It also promotes something called the EPOC affect meaning you burn after your workout. For nutrition advice, feel free to ask our in-house nutritionist Paige to get the complete package.
